I usually email my clients an invoice from QB - but each PDF it creates has the exact same name. If I am sending out more than one invoice to the same client on the same day or later, I run the risk of them accidentally overwriting the previous PDF when saving it to their PC . Is there a way to change the name WITHIN QB on an invoice by invoice basis (not after it's created)? How to change the name of a PDF invoice emailed from QuickBooks?
I am not really sure that I understand what you are saying in reference to the Invoice PDF having the same name. I tested mine out and the name of the PDF file was Inv. 15 from Retail Company, Inv. 11 from Retail Company, etc.. The name was automatically applied, and it was based on the invoice number in QuickBooks.
If you are referring to the e-mail header that your client gets when receiving the e-mail, that can be changed.
1. Go to the Edit Menu%26gt; Preferences%26gt;Send Forms%26gt; Company Preferences.
2. In the Change Default for field, use the drop down and choose Invoice.
3. In the Subject field, you can change the e-mail subject line to whatever you want.

you log in to your computer and you go to my computer and you will see it there.
Go to the intuit website and find out. If I am understanding your question, the best thing to do is when you go to print the new invoice, call it something different when you go to save it, for example JohnDoe1, JohnDoe2, JohnDoe3, or put the date of the invoice as the name. You can also right click on the name and rename. I hope that helps.
