What is PDF for? How can I send PDF files to a website?

IU downloaded something called doPDF- supposed to be a deal that converts files to PDF. But it said stuff about being a PDF printer after I downloaded it. So, if I can get a PDF download to change my work to a PDF file, then do I type my work directly into it? Will it automatically change files I send out to PDF? What do I do?What is PDF for? How can I send PDF files to a website?

Okay, PDF's are basically a way of giving people read-only copies of your documents without them having to have Office Word (or similar), installed on their computer.

A program called a PDF printer is a way of you creating PDF's from your documents. So when you make a letter in Word for example, instead of sending it to your printer it creates a PDF file on your computer which you can email to your friends/collegues.

It does not replace your word processor, so when you make any changes to your document you will need to 'print' the document again using goPDF, and it will create a newer updated version of the original PDF.

My PDF printer of choice is PDFCreator, many people have found it to be the best on the market, you might too. It's free by the way! :)
