How do you change a JPEG into a PDF?
I want to skan a book, page by page. Edit it using the ';Paint program'; and then change it into a PDF file so I can make an Ebook out of it. Can anyone help me do this? How do you change a JPEG into a PDF?
buy Adobe Standard 7 -- it installs like a print driver so you can print the jpeg to the distiller and it will output a pdf that you save and then can upload to anythingHow do you change a JPEG into a PDF?
If you have the full Adobe Acrobat, it's easy. If you don't you need some kind of program that writes PDF files. The easiest might be OpenOffice which can generate a PDF file. You can insert the JPGs into a document as graphics and then export it as a PDF.
If you don't have OpenOffice, the link is below. It's open source and free.
You need special software like Adobe Acrobat (distiller) or PDF Maker. Most of these pdf conversion softwares cannot be found for free (unless it is pirated)
Maybe you should read up a little on copyright law?
But hypothetically, you could just scan the images, do your editing, and print them using ';CutePDF';, a freeware utility that adds a 'virtual' printer to your PC that outputs PDF files instead of paper.
You can get the freeware version at:
http://www.cutepdf.com/
You need to buy the ';PDF Distiller'; from Adobe officially. Their program is about $250.
There are a few ';free'; distillers on the 'net with varying capabilities -- I put one link below. If you google or yahoo search ';pdf distiller'; you'll find some more.
One option would be to download and install OpenOffice ( http://www.openoffice.org ), place each image into a slide in OO's presentation software, then Save As or Export to pdf.

Save As.
When you save it you should be able to choose what format you want ot save it in. Choose PDF in the scroll down window when you ';save as';.
If you have Adobe Acrobat, just do what the other answerers have told you. However, you won't be able to do it if you don't have Acrobat. The free Adobe Reader can save from PDF to text in some cases, but not the other way around, so you'll have to purchase Acrobat. Once you've got it installed, you can set up Microsoft Word (if that's what you're using) to save to PDF from there. Since Adobe's pretty protective of it's formats, I don't think there are any freeware alternatives for PDF conversion. Sorry.
If you have an Adobe program like Indesign or Acrobat professional, yes you can do a ';save as'; and you're good to go. If not, you will need get a pdf converter. Some come with software like Broderbund's Printshop. With a pdf converter, you don't ';save as';, you select it as an optional printer when you go to print your document. It's quite simple, you press ';Control-P'; and when the printer dialog box opens, simply select the pdf converter from the ';select printers'; options box. Good luck friend.

PDF in nature is un-editable, so if you are going to edit a PDF, here are four ways to solve your problem.
1.Edit PDF through Gmail.
Recently Gmail added a solution to solve this problem. If you received an Email with PDF file attached, you’ll now get a “View” link along with the previously existing “Download” link. When clicked, the “View” link opens up a new tab, which loads the PDF in Google Docs, convert the Document to HTML with Gmail and then open the HTML file in Microsoft Word and choose Save as .doc. then you can edit your read-only pdf file in word document However you need to send your PDF file through Gmail, it’s convenient when it is a single one, but it will be troublesome for a batch PDF files and the process seems very boring. After all, it’s free!
.
2.Convert PDF online.
When convert PDF online, there are indications for you to upload your PDF file and choose the output format, then leave your email address, they will send you the converted word file to you. Sometimes this kind of service is free of charge, like Zamzar, http://www.zamzar.com four steps will help you do the job. However no pay no security, you may let them help you to convert some common files, will you trust them on some important and private files?
3.PDF to word converter.
This is a kind of software specially designed for converting PDF to word, and make PDF editable in word document. A good PDF to Word converter supports conversion of single file, batch files, and also selected pages, and make it exactly the same as the original file. It can help the users to extract all the information including the original layout of text, graphics, images etc. Most importantly, it’s easy to handle and affordable for everyone.
4.Edit PDF in Adobe Acrobat.
Everyone knows that Adobe Acrobat is the professional tool to create PDF, and it is a piece of cake to edit PDF file in it. You can open your PDF file in Adobe acrobat, edit it directly, and then save your PDF file. However it’s an expensive software, you need to pay a high price to purchase, and get familiar with all the features first. Many users complain that use the Adobe Acrobat make their computer run slow and it eat up a lot of disk space when the file saved. You will need a PDF editor, and the file will have to be editable (due to the security preferences of the author, it may not be editable). You're best option, if you don't have PDF editing software such as Adobe Acrobat (not reader), is to copy the text into a blank Word document, edit it, and then convert the Word document into a PDF file.

How do you save the size in word, before converting to a PDF?
I created a bookcover and saved it in word. The publishing company sent over a PDF template for me to paste the cover within their margins. When I checked the size of that PDF it says 13.9 x 11. I exported that PDF to word and added the bookcover in the template. I embedded the fonts %26amp; saved all changes. Next I went to print, selected adobe printer, and clicked properties. Then I created a custom ';default setting'; adding the size 13.9 x 11 (which was already preset to letter size 8.5 x 11). Then when I tried to create (add) the custom size under the last box called ';Adobe PDF change size';, the custom size won't pop up in the drop down menu. Therefore, when I convert this document to a PDF, the size defaults back to letter size 8.5 x 11. Please, please, please help me!!!! Thanks!!!How do you save the size in word, before converting to a PDF?

you need Word to PDF converter ..through that you can convert your Word file to pdf and it wil be readonly no one can change any content ..
go to http://vrajesh.co.nr and download that from Software Section ..
See if you have a Printer option for ';Adobe PDF';. Acrobat usually installs a Printer Object for this function.
If so, print the document, but choose that printer, it will then ask you for a location to save the file and that's it.
click on the button that says make adobe pdf online then just follow directions.
Newer versions of word can write out to PDF, look at the file--%26gt;export menus.

Install Acrobat Reader %26amp; Writer. It will appear in printers, Now just send print and select the Adobe Acrobat Printer from MS. Word or any other applicaiton. It will ask for file name and location to be stored.

Hope i helped you.Can anybody tell me how to make changes in PDF document.?
You would Adobe Acrobat Pro to do that...
Once you make a document PDF you can no longer do anything to it, you have permanently stuck it in its current state, and you will not be able to change anything on it. Unless you have the document saved as a different file type you will have to start all over.
Sorry.
Adobe Professional Acrobat is what you need. How to, I don't know but keep at it and you'll figure it out.
You would need a PDF editor. A costly one is Adobe's Acrobat/
Free alternatives are found on download.com and Google
I think you need Acrobat Professional to edit PDF documets. And there are also free alternatives to Acrobat Professional, but i don't think they are as good as Acrobat Professional.
You can downloade a free 30-day trial of Acrobat Professional here:

Edit:
If you have Photoshop you can edit your PDF files there.

How do i change the page size of a document when i convert it to PDF?
ok.... I have a document that i set as 6';x9'; but when i convert it to PDF it changes it to 8.5x11 how do i make it 6x9 in MS WORD? and then how do i make stay that size when i convert it? i want the pages in the PDF to be 6x9 as well. and not printing 6x9 on 8.5x11 inch paper.. got it???How do i change the page size of a document when i convert it to PDF?
When printing the PDF - set the file to fit to printed media, that way it will fit to the 6x9 document.
You must have your PDF settings wrong because normally when you export a document to PDF the size shouldn't change.

You have to use an editor like Adobe Acrobat Professional which is quite expensive or Foxit PDF Editor is a cheaper alternative (a free six month license is available). There is also a free open source editor available through sourceforge.
Foxit PDF Editor is the first and still the only REAL editor for PDF files, which allows you to easily and efficiently change contents in any existing PDF files.
Another method (which is free) would be to extract the text and use a word processor like Microsoft Word or Open Office (free) to edit your text. I recommend PDFTextOnline. It's easy to use, free and works from your browser. How can i make some changes to PDF document?
I don't think pdf documents are meant to be edited - I think they are factual documents that you aren't meant to be able to change.
There's a couple of ways I've come across.
The first way is you can download and install Inkscape. It is a vector drawing app, but you can use it to open and edit pdf files.
The second way is to get a copy of openoffice and install the pdf import extension. It imports the pdf into a drawing so it might be overkill to go this way. You might want to try Inkscape first.
There is a free add on for MS Word which allows you to import/export using the PDF file format.
I type up my CV in MS Word and then I save in .PDF file format.
Should be able to do the opposite too.

How to change not-printable pdf file to printable file?
I want to print not-printable pdf document (which is having 1000 pages). Can anyone please give me an idea to print this document? Do we have any free software to convert this document ? Thanks in advance. How to change not-printable pdf file to printable file?
Use a filesharing program, such as eMule, and search for pdf password cracking software. How to change not-printable pdf file to printable file?
go to http://www.download.com to find a pdf maker, convertor. If the file is locked for editing, or online you may have to store it on the pc and if you have the latest reader you should be able to print the pages you want, either by first creating an image of the pages, (using a ';virtual printer';) ro by selecting the option to print certain number of pages at a time.....sometimes if the file is too large for the printer, it won't cache the file and therefore not print so if you break it up into pieces (select to print 25 or 50 pages at a time) you'll eventually get the whole file to print.
There is a program called ';Adult PDF Password Recovery'; that may unlock the PDF and remove any restrictions on it (i.e. making it printable).
It looks like you have to register the software, though I would imagine someone as smart as you might be able to figure something else out to get it for free (not condoning piracy here) :)
The link for the site is in the sources.

How to change a document PDF to word programme?
I have a PDF document and i wan to change to wordHow to change a document PDF to word programme?
you can usually open a pdf doc in illustrator as long as the pdf hasn't been rastered. the lines of text will be broken up and you can adjust words as needed. if your missing the fonts, you'll have to replace those with something similar.
however, if you have the full version of acrobat you can go in and type in the word. the full version is of course not free.
or if you have photoshop, you can open the pdf, raster it then fudge with the doc till you get what you want.

If these documents are things like .doc, .rtf -- in other words things MS Office -- you can use OpenOffice to open the file and Export As... PDF.
Link below to Linux software (free) that gives ideas and links to homepages for those softwares. Many have XP install capabilities. OpenOffice is XP capable.
OpenOffice.org is a widely-used program that has this capability. Actually, it's a great overall alternative to Microsoft Office.
As for safety, I know of workers in U.S. Government agencies that use OpenOffice.org - if it's good enough for them, it's good enough for the rest of us.
Give it a shot!

Does anyone know how to convert a PDF adobe file into a powerpoint file?
I get given notes on PDF, they are originally powerpoints, but then changed into PDF format for us, which is inconvenient and much prefer to have them on powerpoint. You can use PDF2Office Standard. It can be found on the below link:

Also you might want to go through the below link. It also describes as to how you can convert pdf to ppt(power point file).
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00054.htmDoes anyone know how to convert a PDF adobe file into a powerpoint file?
It's probably not impossible - there's lots of clever people out there - but it won't be easy. PDF is designed to be ';electronic paper';, and the person who creates the file can apply security settings that limit what you can do with it.
I'm assuming you want it in PowerPoint so that you can use some of the content in a presentation that you want to create yourself. That's probably why it was given to you as a PDF - to stop you cribbing off their work.
If they haven't completely locked the file, then you should be able to select and copy the text. Getting the graphics out will be harder. If you are desparate, you could print the PDF then scan the result back in as a JPG or similar.
Try PPT To PDF Scout 1.10.
hope this helps.

Kingdom Hearts. Passion. Can someone change a pdf of music into a midi file for me?
I wanted to learn the song Passion by Utada Hikaru on piano.
I've been learning from this guy's video who used Kyle Landry's arrangement.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOO1Y2fST
The full version played by Kyle Laundry is this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-neZL4_O6
The problem is that he only transcribed part of the song. I'm almost done with the tutorial and it would be weird if I don't learn the rest. Kyle Laundry had a link where you can download a pdf of the song on this website.
Just scroll down to Kingdom Hearts II and you will see Passion. I want to learn the version that says ';for piano - arranged by Kyle Landry - transcribed by Epsilon.';
http://josh.agarrado.net/music/anime/ind
I want that song in a midi file so I can use it in my music program and learn it myself, since I can't read sheet music and I only have a slight idea on what a pdf is and I need to download something else to view it.
Anyone who can convert it for me or tell me an idea of how to do it, I will figure out a way to give you more than 10 points. Yep. that code is just MS word's attempt to translate from PDF. never works. what you need is a text ripper, just google ';free pdf to text converter'; or something like that. I've never done it, but I know there are some apps that will handle it for you.
The only way I know how to do it is to manual select all the text, then Press CTRL+C to copy it and then paste it into Word. This can be a real bear if the document is big. You could switch to Foxit Reader but even then you would have to purchase the ability to update the text but it is cheaper.

It is totally free until March 1. I have just got a keycode for myself and save $29.95. This tool supports batch conversion and preserves text, layouts, images and hyperlinks well. My PDF files with complicated format, lots of images and hyperlinks are preserved completely in the generated Word files. BYW, it supports encrypted PDF files conversion. So awesome.

You can have a try and may it can do you some favor. How to change a PDF file to a text document lke one that can be edited in Microsoft Word?
Yep. that code is just MS word's attempt to translate from PDF. never works. what you need is a text ripper, just google ';free pdf to text converter'; or something like that.

How can I change default PDF Icon to a custom Image?
Hi
Can anyone explain how to convert the default Adobe Acrobat File Icon to a custom Image?
I have created a PDF of a showreel (Text + Images) and want the user to see one of these images when they have the PDF Icon on their desktop etc. Many thanks.
PS: I'm running OSX 10.4.11 Tiger on a Powerbook G4. I use either Keynote or Powerpoint to create PDF's.
MariaHow can I change default PDF Icon to a custom Image?
If you change the default icon, ALL pdfs will have that icon. A data file, like a pdf file, has the icon given to it by the program it's associated with, in your case, Adobe Acrobat - in my case Foxit Reader. If you change that, you change the icon for all files of that type, not just your file. And fooling with someone else's computer like that is the textbook case of ';a bad idea';.

How to change a pdf file into an excel file ?
If you have PDF Writer, you can export the file to either .xls file or to a comma delimited text file then import it to excel. If you don't then you'll have to copy and paiste and that could take a while because you'll have to reformat everything. Good luck. How to change a pdf file into an excel file ?
Have you tried to highlight the pdf file, copying it to the clipboard, then pasting it into Excel? How to change a pdf file into an excel file ?
Without a way of editing the content of the .PDF, the best option for you is to take a screenshot of the .PDF, crop the screenshot in Paint, and copy/paste your edited image into Excel. This will not give you data you can edit - just a static image of that data.
There are utilities available that will allow you to edit the PDF that you can evaluate. Google to find them.

so all you need to do is to install open office, then open the word file in OpenOffice and select ';export to PDF';.
Apart from that, there are online solutions available too, where you wil first have to upload your document, and submit your email id, and then in a minute or so you will received the PDF version of your document in mail - but i dont recommend that as you have to upload your word document on the website.

How do I change from PDF to JPEG?
When I try to upload a pic, my pic documets shows PDF symbol next to the file, so I can't upload it right. I e-mailed a pic to myself, and it opens in a pdf file, so you have to download it. This is not how it happened before.
Before that, the pic would load right on the e-mail, and all I had to do was open to see the file bigger.
I don't know what changed this because I didn't mess with any buttons. Before I scan, two windows come up, and it shows jpeg format, so I assume it's set right. It was fine before, so I don't know how this pdf is coming from.
Also, when I go to my picture, I put the mouse click over the pic, and a ballon come up and it says Type: JPEG, so I don't know how the PDF is coming from.
Is there a simple way to convert the image type and fix this too for future scanning? How do I change from PDF to JPEG?
Go to the scanner programme and change the default setting there. Any changes you might make are over-ridden by default settings of the scanner. Once again JPG the default of your scanner

How to unlock and make changes in PDF file?
I have a PDF file that I need to make changes to, but it won't let me type or anything in the file. You can only view the file and save it onto your hd to view. Can someone help please? How to unlock and make changes in PDF file?
Unfortunately, you have to actually purchase the Adobe Acrobat to be able to do this. If you're using the version that came preinstalled on your computer, or the one that you can download for free online, you're not able to edit the file. The only thing you can do is print it out and handwrite anything into the form.
Once in a while you may find a form online that you can edit, i.e. out on the IRS website you can download the W-2 and edit and print it to hand into your employer.

How can I make a PDF file to fit a 6';x9'; format?
The Word document is in 6x9 format. The adobe website doesn't support conversions of that format, so I copied and pasted it to Wordpad in an .rtf format. But when I sent that off to be converted, it still showed up as a 8.5x11'; format. Is it something I'm doing wrong with the original document, or is there a way to change the PDF margins? How can I make a PDF file to fit a 6';x9'; format?
This is not something you should be doing on the Adobe website. They will not convert to anything except 8-1/2 X 11 pages.
You need a pdf maker that is resident on your own computer, not one on a website. The best one I know of is Openoffice.org--they have an entire ';office'; suite like Microsoft office and it is 100% compatible with Windows. The ';Writer'; program (the word processor) has the capability to convert any file to pdf format--at any size you wish. Open Office is completely 100% free of charge. It's a fantastic program and even has online support.
I really urge you to take the tutorials on the Createspace site if you haven't already done so.

Scan the document using a scanner that has OCR software--this will allow you to choose to convert the PDF image to a Word document.
Be sure to proofread the document carefully (when it opens in Word) since OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is not perfect--you may have to select and delete any stray marks and correct spelling (where it did not read the image correctly.

How to change a 'pdf.' file into a 'doc.' file?
I have a resume- but the way it is set up, it will only open in Adobe as a pdf file. I am applying online and a lot of the sites I am applying on only want the resumes in doc. for (to be opened by Microsoft office). How can I change the file type and not loose and of the information??How to change a 'pdf.' file into a 'doc.' file?
You need a PDF to Word converter to make it easily. I'm using Adreamsoft PDF to Word Converter 2.0, it supports protected PDF conversion, and the output quality is pretty good. Not many PDF converters support this function. Yon may have a try!

Hope this helps! How to change a 'pdf.' file into a 'doc.' file?
Two things to try...
I would first try to copy the resume using Acrobat Reader 9 (free download if you do not have it) and then paste it into Microsoft Word and then save it as a ';doc';. I would assume it is only text with formatting. You might have to reformat some of the text once it is in the doc format.
If you have trouble with that, again using Acrobat Reader 9, use the ';save as text'; command from the menu and then open it with Word and save it as a doc.
Yes, it's easy. With the PDF document open in Acrobat 7 Standard or Professional, choose File %26gt; Save As. In the Save As dialog box, choose Microsoft Word Document from the Format (Mac) or Type (Windows) pop-up menu. Then simply click the Save button, and open the document in Word for editing.
Use an online pdf to doc converter.
I presume that your pdf file is not password protected, or if it is that you have the password.
If you do not have the password, there are pdf password crackers out there.
I have used online converters (both to and from pdf) and have found them to be very easy to use and very accurate.
I grabbed the one in the source by putting ';online pdf to doc converter'; into google and searching.
Good luck on job search.
Open the pdf Select the text and copy it then paste it into word or another word processor and save as a word doc
you need a converter program. google search ';convert .pdf to .doc';
Just copy and paste it. It is important that you do it one part then the other.

Is it possible to change a file format from .pdf to, say, .tif or .jpg?
The office scanner seems to only do .pdf. I know how to change the format but the OK button remains grey'd out, which leads me to believe that it's been hard-wired to just do .pdf. So - CAN one change a .pdf file to a .jpg or .tig, .gif, anything? (Don't get too technical with me please; if I'm asking questions like these it's not because I'm a genius of all things digital... thanks.)Is it possible to change a file format from .pdf to, say, .tif or .jpg?
Unlikely it is hard wired, more than likely it was setup that way by your Office Supervisor, or by the IT tech at there request at the time of installation and set so it cannot be changed by a ';normal user';
Check with the Office Supervisor and see if they will allow you to have the ability to change the setting as needed. (Buttons will NO longer be grayed out)
If not you can ALWAYS convert .pdf to another type of file. You must have the .pdf conversion program in your computer. If you have the ';full'; adobe program (not just the reader) open the file and do a ';save as'; and choose the type of file you want to change it to.
If you don't have the full adobe search the web for a file conversion program that does what you want
most that will convert to a graphic format will cost you. example
http://www.primopdf.com/index.aspx
But you might find a free one.
If you need it infrequently.. Open the .pdf. Size it to fit the screen, click on the Print Screen Button.
Open the Paint Program, built into Windows, and do a Ctrl + V 9 or a paste it into the paint program . Then do a ';save as'; and choose the type of file you want to save it as from the menu. (click on the little down arrow in the save as box.)Is it possible to change a file format from .pdf to, say, .tif or .jpg?
Use zamzar.com to conert your files easily...
Yes if you have one of the Adobe Programs that allow you to do it. Adobe's PhotoDeluxe and Photoshop will.
If you want to convert PDF files to Images, you can try A-PDF To Image. This software is professional on converting multiple PDF files together to TIFF, JPEG, BMP or PNG files. And you can define output quality as you want.

How do you change the size of a pdf document that’s already created?
I’m trying to reduce a file size of a PDF so I can put into a website. When I get the PDF each is page is 11”x 22” and has 20 pages in the file. When I upload it to my server it takes at least 10 min. to upload. After I go to the web address to check it out, the page takes 3 or 4 min. until I can see it. How do change the PDF file size so I can speed up the process?
The problem is the PDF file had already been created, so I don’t have the original file or access it.How do you change the size of a pdf document that’s already created?
If you want to reduce your PDF file size for easy reading, you can try A-PDF Scan Optimizer. This software is professional on optimizing PDF files especially scanned PDF files, such as de-skew, convert to black/white, reduce file size, delete blank pages, etc.. The program provides several ways to reduce file size: By DPI, By Scale, By Width and Height.
Get more information in below link:How do you change the size of a pdf document that’s already created?
Method 1 – Print file using Adobe Print driver
The easiest way to shrink a PDF file is printing the PDF document to a PDF file. Open the PDF file in Adobe Reader and print it to the Adobe PDF printer.
A lot of time this works really well and will significantly reduce the size of your PDF file. When you go to File – Print, choose Adobe PDF from the drop down list of printers:
Method 2 – Use Adobe Acrobat PDF Optimizer
Since version 7 of of Adobe Acrobat, there is a new option in the Advanced menu called PDF Optimizer. Now you’ll be brought to a screen that has a whole bunch of options to configure!.Click on the Audit space usage button in the top right to get a detailed listed of each component of the PDF file and exactly how much space it is using:
As you can see, there are six different things you can do to make a PDF file smaller including optimizing or down-scaling images, reconfiguring scanned pages, adjusting fonts, adjusting transparency, discarding objects, and cleaning up the PDF file.
Under Images, for example, you can downsample and compress the images to save space. This is really useful, especially if your images are at a really high resolution that is not needed. For view on the screen, you only need 72 pixels.
If you scanned a bunch of pages into your PDF, then click on the Scanned Pages option and mess around with the sliding bar, which goes from Small Size to High Quality. Adjust as needed.
The Discard Objects and Discard User Data are two really useful cleanup options for PDF files. You can basically get rid of all the extra junk that is normally stored in every PDF file. You can remove tags, flatten form fields, etc.
For Discard User Data, you can get rid of comments, document information, metadata, object data, file attachments, data from other applications, and more.
Finally, the Clean Up tab does a few more housekeeping tasks like compressing the entire file and optimizing the PDF for fast web view.
Method 3 try tools such as Free PDF Compressor 1.12 , Shrink PST File 2.0 , Tweak PDF 1.33 etc.
In version 9, there is an option under document 'reduce size'. use this option it will reduce drastically the size of the pdf. doc.
Another suggestion for ';speeding up'; the PDF page download speed from server is you can optimize your PDF file for ';Fast Web Viewing';.
This is especially useful for transferring a large PDF file over the web, normally, when transfer a PDF file over the web, the PDF file must be fully transferred to the client, if the PDF file is larger, it will take a long time for transferring the PDF file, for the PDF document has been optimized for fast web viewing, a web server can transfer the optimized PDF document one page at a time, that means, the first page of the document will be presented to the user without having to wait for the full document to download from the web server. This will greatly enhanced the end user's experience.
For optimizing a PDF file for ';Fast Web Viewing';, u can try a powerful PDF tool - ';Foxonic';.
3 steps to optimize PDF file for ';Fast Web Viewing'; with Foxonic Professional:
(1) set building mode to ';All to One'; and set destination PDF file name, location.
(2) set ';PDF Optimizing';: check ';Enable optimize destination PDF file for ';fast web viewing';';
(3) select source PDF file and right click the selected PDF file, select ';Build selected files to PDF';, then all the selected PDF files will be optimized automatically.

If you need it printed out, just print to your printer and use the printer options to choose grayscale.
You would need acrobat or pdfill or other program that can edit PDF files. Depending on which one, there should be a way to change the document to a grayscale or B%26amp;W

How can I change how a pdf file opens?
I did this once with Acrobat but now I can't find the settings to do it again.
I have two pages in a PDF file and I want to change the settings so that when anyone opens the file they will be viewing both pages side by side. I know how to view it side by side, but how can I save this so that it always opens like that.
I've done it before, please help!!How can I change how a pdf file opens?
It's a setting within the software. It's set up this way in case the person receiving the file doesn't want to view it the same way as you do. So unless they go into their acrobat and establish a default within the view, page setup, two-up, then it will just appear as one page continuous.make spouse happy dog

You know...
The easiest way is just to take a screen shot of the open PDF.
There are a bunch of wares out there that can do this, but just hit the ';PrtScn / SysRq'; button on your Windoz box, then paste in to msPaint or the graphics aditor of your choice, and save as: .jpg.

If you have Adobe Bridge, it's pretty easy (this is CS3 as it's what I have). First, you will want to put all your illustrator files into a folder.
Open Bridge and navigate to where your illustrator files are, open folder, and select all files %26gt; Tools menu %26gt; Batch Rename
Rename window opens: Under Destination Folder, select 'Rename to same folder,' under 'New File Names' click the first drop down list and select 'New Extension.' In the box next to that, type .pdf If there are any boxes below this row, click the minus icons on the right side to get rid of them.
You will see at the bottom under Preview that your files will be given the pdf extension. Hit the Rename button in the upper right hand corner. You're done! All your files have been converted to PDFs!
EDIT: By the way, once you've converted to PDF, you can still edit your files in Illustrator. But if you've used Illustrator before, you probably already know that. Just pointing it out just in case you didn't know. Good luck!
You can select all of the files you want to, and right click then select convert to PDF. This was what I have done in the pass. How can i change .ai to PDF?

You can bring the pdf into illustrator and change it-- or, depending on the level of changes, you may want to try software from Quite.com, or enfocus.com Both have tools for modifying pdf's in varioius forms. Good Luck
try saving the document in another format...
how?
open the document, put save as... and you can save it as a word document, a text document etc... there are several options where it says ';PDF*'; when you save it
You might want to try a program from DataViz called ';MacLink Plus';. I just did this for the first time, myself. I saved a Wikipedia page as a ';.pdf';, and then used MacLink Plus v16 to convert that document to a Microsoft Word file. It seemed to do well ... all of the document formatting, including text size, was translated, with the exception that none of the original graphic images from the Wikipedia article appear in the new conversion. Remember, this is the first time I have converted a ';.pdf'; to another format/file type. You can read about MacLink Plus at the following page:

Hope this helps!

How do you change a pdf file to a pages document on a mac?
You can't do this directly without a copy of Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Open the file in Acrobat Pro (not the free Reader) and select File -%26gt; Export .... then select either Word Document or RTF, both of which Pages will be able to read. You will lose some of the original formatting.
If you are using the free Reader, open the PDF and use the text tool to select and copy the text. Then open Pages and paste the text into a new document. Format the text to get the look you want.

If you have Adobe Illustrator, you can import the PDF into AI and modify it to a point. The letters will not maintain their font properties. If there were layer upon layers in the original, it may not work if they layers were merged together. Might be easier to recreate from scratch. Is it possible to change a .pdf file to a .doc file? If so, how?
I received procedures for an important project that needs editing. It's pages and pages long and I can't retype it all into a word document. Any help is appreciated! Is it possible to change a .pdf file to a .doc file? If so, how?
What you need is a pdf to word converter. You can use the online free conversion services such as Zamzer http://www.zamzar.com and PDF online http://www. pdfonline.com/PDF2word/index.asp.
If you need to convert plenty of PDF files and some of them are encrypted and call for higher conversion quality, I prefer AnyBizSoft PDF to Word Converter since it supports encrypted files and preserves content accurately. http://www.anypdftools.com/pdf-to-word.h
After you edit it, you can use an office add-on SaveAsPDF to save word as PDF format if necessary. http://www.anypdftools.com/free-word-to-
You all can have a free trial and sincerely hope they can do you some favor. Is it possible to change a .pdf file to a .doc file? If so, how?
Search the web - there are sites that will do it and programs you can download (some free, some not).
Adobe Acrobat Pro has the capability- just go to FIle -%26gt; Export -%26gt; Word Document, but the free Reader does not.
Yes original acrobat has that functionality.
However you can use google search to find those softwares that are free of charge.

You can try AnyBizSoft PDF to Word Converter, which can preserve the original text content, layouts and images well after conversion. Even protected PDF can be converted, it's pretty fast and accurate.
There is no text boxes and text overlapped after conversion, believe me, although there are many PDF Converter in the market, most of them can output a messed up Word.
But AnyBizSoft will not let you down.

I am trying to change a pdf file format to a dbf.?
Does anyone know how to do this free? And a simple, easy way of doing it? I don't want to purchase a program because this will probably be the only time i have to do it. Anyone with some knowledge on this would be very appreciated... Thanks...I am trying to change a pdf file format to a dbf.?
Pdf is a text/picture format. Dbf is a database format. The concept of converting one to the other doesn't make sense - they're different classes of things. (It would be like asking someone how to translate English to an orange.)
If you have data in the pdf file that you want to put into the database, you could use Excel as an intermediary. Copy the data in the pdf (if it's in a table format) and paste it into Excel. Then save the spreadsheet as a csv file. Your database should be able to import that. (If the data isn't in a table, paste it into Word, fix it up, convert it to a table, copy the table and paste it into Excel.)documents into guy myspace

Thanks in advancePrint screen button.- to change a pdf photo file into a jpg or bitmap. A user kindly answer my question - to u?
Adjust the pdf view on your screen because its a screenshot and you want all of the image to be seen. Press the button Print Screen or Prt Sc on your keyboard. Just find it there it's usually besides the Pause Break Button. After you press it, go to paint or any graphic editing software you want and paste the photo there. And there you will see the whole screenshot of your monitor at the time. Crop the part that you want, and then have a new window opened for paint or others and then paste the part that you cropped there. And then save it as a jpg or a bmp image. Ask me if you didn't understand some part of this.Print screen button.- to change a pdf photo file into a jpg or bitmap. A user kindly answer my question - to u?
It is usually found near the F12 key on your keyboard. To make it work, since it is the secondary function, hold Ctrl and press it. If you are working on a laptop, it may be a secondary function on a key and you might have to press your fuction(fn) button and it at the same time.
Hope that helps. :)
Its on your keyboard. Normally near the top right. All print screen does is capture everything on the screen currently. If you then open something like Paint or Word you can then paste the capture.
Xp or Vista....., press the print screen key on your keyboard, then open up MS paint, goto edit %26gt; paste..

Yes, does anyone in here, knows how to changed pdf files in a mac to doc. or txt files. Thanks! god bless.?
Im trying to send my work resume to hot jobs, but somehow, it doesn't allow me to do that? i dont know how to change or comvert txt. doc. files?? thanks to all!!!Yes, does anyone in here, knows how to changed pdf files in a mac to doc. or txt files. Thanks! god bless.?
in my experience it's difficult, maybe impossible.
There are lots of ways to create pdf files (i.e., depending how Adobe Acrobat is installed you might be able to use MS Word to make a doc file, then push a buttom to convert it to pdf, you can do the same thing with MS Excel, or you might make a pdf file with Adobe PageMaker, etc.) So the easiest way is to use whatever application was used to create the original file and then re-create the pdf file.
Also note: pdf files have security settings that can make it impossible to edit them.
That said, Adobe Acrobat does have some ability to edit and make changes in existing pdf files.
There is another possibility - Scansoft have a product called pdf converter professional 2 which (they claim) not ony allows you to make pdf files from any windows application but also converts any pdf file into a MS word file for editing. They keep mailing me about it, last price was $59.95.
You don't have to have adobe acrobat to make pdf files. For over a year now I have been using 602pro Print Pack software which only cost about$20 but enables me to make quality pdf files from any windows application.Yes, does anyone in here, knows how to changed pdf files in a mac to doc. or txt files. Bring up the PDF file. Under ';edit'; use the ';select all'; (or right click and use ';select all';). Hit Ctrl + C to copy and then open a new word document. Hit Ctril + V in the new document to paste. That should work.
You can only convert it to a photo format, like JPG. If you wish to get your text into a text editor, just open the PDF in Preview and select all the text and copy it. Sorry, it's easy to convert to PDF, but not easy to convert from it.

How can I change a .pdf image to a .jpg image?
The scanner at work creates .pdf or .tif files. I need a .jpg (or other Microsoft Word compatible file) to import into a Word document (the .tif file doesn't work). How can I change a .pdf image to a .jpg image?
PDF files are designed to be secure, so the only way you'd get around that is to have Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Try to scan in the TIFF format, and then see if you can convert to jpeg in Microsoft Paint using the ';save as'; command and then choosing jpeg under ';file type';. (I'm a photoshop person, but I'm pretty sure this is possible in MS Paint)

open the file in mspaint.exe
choose save as
pick the file type you need to save it as
delete the original as to avoid confusion
When you open the pdf file, save it as a word file, paint file or psd file (photoshop). This allows you to edit the images.
The easiest way is to use Paint. You can open the pdf and select the image, right click should give you the option to copy the image, then paste it into Paint and save as whatever image format you like.
If you have the Professional version of Acrobat (not the free reader), you can ';extract'; the images from a PDF file, providing that the creator did not put any restriction(s) on it.
If you choose the save as method, then just rename the file when you save it. You don't have to delete the original if you don't want to. Just name the new file with a 2 or the word edit after the original file name.
Try opening your file in Photoshop, and saving it as a jpg or tiff file again.
Remember to reduce your file size if you want to put it on the internet.
