When you save it you should be able to choose what format you want ot save it in. Choose PDF in the scroll down window when you ';save as';.
If you have Adobe Acrobat, just do what the other answerers have told you. However, you won't be able to do it if you don't have Acrobat. The free Adobe Reader can save from PDF to text in some cases, but not the other way around, so you'll have to purchase Acrobat. Once you've got it installed, you can set up Microsoft Word (if that's what you're using) to save to PDF from there. Since Adobe's pretty protective of it's formats, I don't think there are any freeware alternatives for PDF conversion. Sorry.
If you have an Adobe program like Indesign or Acrobat professional, yes you can do a ';save as'; and you're good to go. If not, you will need get a pdf converter. Some come with software like Broderbund's Printshop. With a pdf converter, you don't ';save as';, you select it as an optional printer when you go to print your document. It's quite simple, you press ';Control-P'; and when the printer dialog box opens, simply select the pdf converter from the ';select printers'; options box. Good luck friend.
